Back in October I participated in one of Korea's first offical gravel races. The Munkyung 66 was a mountain bike race with a gravel category.
It was a rocky course so I set my 3T Exploro Racemax up with a pair of Boyd Jocassee's with 49cc Ultradynamico Rose tires. This proved to be a good decision.
It started raining immediately after we started but luckily it wasn't too cold and didn't rain enough to make the course slippery.
It was a great course with a nice mix of gravel (fire road), cement single lane roads, pavement and a tough single track descent. I would recommend running large tires of you want to ride the course on a gravel bike.
The race started out fast and furious with 500 riders racing towards the first climb. I felt pretty good and managed to finish 4th in my category after nearly 3 hours of racing!

지난 일요일에 그래블카테고리로 문경 66대회 참가했습니다. 코스가 조금 험할 줄 알고 49c Ultradynamico Rose 타이어로 바꿨습니다.
대회 출발하자마자 비를 오기 시작했지만 다행이 임도구간들이 숲속이라 많이 안 미끄러웠어요.
코스 임도 비중이 높았고 싱글구간도 조금 있었습니다. 싱글 구간이 mtb로도 어려워 그래블로 타면 상급자 아닌 이상 조금 걸어야 할 수 있습니다.
남어지 임도 시멘트 구간들이 다 상태 좋고 별로 안 가팔라서 그래블로 타기 좋있습니다.
이번 대회는 그래블 4등으로 들어와서 시상식에 문경 사과 한박스 받았습니다.
내년에 아쉽지만 이 대회를 안하고 문경새재가란폰도로 바꿘데요. 하지만 아래 코스 파일 보시면 타볼 수 있습니다. 도전 좋아하면 하루에 다 타는것도 좋고 또는 구간들이 나눠서 타셔도 좋을 것 같습니다.
